Dr. Jake Baxter

Originally from southern Colorado, Dr. Jake Baxter grew up in Canon City and Pueblo before moving up to Fort Collins to attend school at Colorado State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. After graduation, he spent a year working at an emergency and specialty hospital in Lafayette, CO before getting the chance to move to the Midwest to attend the University of Illinois for veterinary school.

Dr. Baxter is a 2024 graduate of the University of Illinois and is excited to be back in Colorado to begin his career. He is looking forward to connecting with the people and pets in his community and getting the chance to strengthen the human-animal bond.

Dr. Baxter moves home as a bachelor with his loyal 6-year-old yellow Labrador named Howard. In his free time, he enjoys catching up with friends and family, working out, and golfing at a high handicap. He grew up fly fishing and skiing in the mountains and looks forward to getting to do more of that now that he’s home.
