Dr. Doug Rea

Dr. Doug Rea was born in Winner, South Dakota and raised in Basin, Wyoming. He attended the University of Wyoming before going to Veterinary School at Colorado State University. After graduating in 1994, he completed a one year internship at Washington State University at their Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Rea brought his “small town” values to Goldsmith Veterinary Clinic when he acquired the practice in 1997. The Rea family is still heavily involved in the practice, as you may see one of them walking dogs, filing, or answering your phone call.

Dr. Rea and his wife Cari are extremely busy even though their three children are grown and have flown the coop. When not visiting his children around the country or taking care of their many animals, Dr. Rea enjoys fishing, hunting, cycling and running his South Dakota cattle business with his parents. One of his favorite events is participating in the Wyoming MS 150 Bike Ride with his cousin.
